I'd be stunned if you went the other way and elected to participate in a scene where I was controlling a danger/risk factor that I wasn't well versed in.

That depends. If I was doing ti and I was setting up the safety factors and you understood them and why, then I might. But that may still be too much of a risk factor. The only way to tell would be to set it up and ax it as we got closer to doing it if it wasn't going "right" or the risk ended up still too high.
Consider the probability of axing as near 100%. I'm not comfortable with water immersion. Even with safety personnel in place, including a paramedic I'd trust to save my life on the side of the road when I wouldn't trust most doctors, ... nah, I just can't see this transpiring.

See, if you got into trouble, I'd want to jump in and save your silly ass. Doesn't matter that I know now I'd be increasing the risk factors, not helping them. Doesn't matter that I know I'd probably end up needing saving myself. Doesn't matter that I really detest personal water immersion. I'd still end up instinctually jumping in to effect a save, dangers be damned. Probably one of those irrational unexplainable things that comes along with loving you.

*heh* Well, yes. And, since I can't see you letting someone else be a stand in on the pitcher option...at least I don't know of anyone at this point in time, it's a moot point. I don't know, in the end, if *I* would do it. But I'd consider it. :)
At this time, no, I can't think of another pitcher I'd trust to conduct such a scene. I'd have to trust said person enough to perform it without me there, for the aforementioned reasons. I'd have to see a pretty damned big benefit for you to go through said scene. Hell, there'd be a lot I'd have to personally work through before I'd feel comfortable. We're talkin' life-riskin' stuff here. Water is an unforgiving mistress.

I really detest burying loved ones, you know?
